What separates successful and high-performing people from the average person? For most people and in my case, it is not just money, opportunity, talent or merely technical skills! What separates successful people from others, in every industry, is the state and attitude of their heart; their mindsets. Mindset, meaning the set of ideas, thoughts, attitudes, beliefs or personal perspectives or viewpoints that a person holds about him or herself that predetermines his/her interpretations of events and circumstances in the world and how he/she responds to those events. It is your “pre-conceived” attitude and disposition of the heart towards life and circumstances in general. It connotes the way you consistently think, feel, focus or orient your mind about yourself and every situation that confronts you in the world.
Your mindset is the already established ideas and attitudes of your subconscious mind which determines how you see life and respond to experiences and circumstances. Oftentimes, this “mindset” or “subconscious habits” are generally negative and thus “programme” your life to think and act in a certain direction in consonance with such negative image or self-concept. This automatically limits your ability to succeed or move forward fundamentally until you deliberately do something to change that mindset and rewrite that mental pattern, making it align with the goals and dreams you desire and are committed to. Until you change your mindset, you may never be able to change your life.
Mindset—your subconscious belief system or attitude—usually begins to form from your time of birth. All the experiences you had growing up, the way you were brought up, the people, experiences or environments you interacted with as a child, the teachers, friends, media, religious institutions, the different role models or sources of influence that had effect on you as a child up to this moment, all have served to form your unique personal mindset. And because of the long time it has taken you to “build” this personal beliefs or overall attitude, it controls your essential thinking and governs how you respond to every-day life in all areas. Your money, career, relationships, social or love life, etc., are usually all a direct reflection of the predominant mindset or personal beliefs you hold about these things within yourself. Since this mindset is often at variance with the dreams you hold in your spirit, then
But is it possible to change and rewrite this long-stablished mindset and thinking pattern? Yes, you can change your mindset and align it more with what you desire in life! You can recondition your mindset and redirect your thinking and attitude consistently in the direction of your highest goals, dreams, desires or aspirations. Psychology researchers and experts in the area of personal development and potential have discovered a number of strategies and exercises that you can use on a consistent basis to reprogramme your thinking and condition your mindset to move you to the direction of your goals and dreams. This simple process, although not totally easy in actual implementation, will help you to stay consistent on the path towards behaving in the ways and doing the things that will get you to accomplishing your goals and objectives.
